St Philips School and Community Center held their annual Christmas Musical December 13th. Your reporter was privileged to attend and was impressed by the talent of the children and the enthusiastic support of the parents. If all schools had parental support even close to the level evidenced by the St Philips parents we would be a long way down the path to solving the responsibility gap seen in many schools. Pictures of the program are here.

Dr Rick Bliese, President of Luther Seminary (Minneapolis, MN), and Jenny Peterson, Philanthropic Adviser, met with our Mission Partners and ITCFG board members at Victory Life. The following note was received from Jenny following her return to Minneapolis.

Terry,

This is such a great gift (a supply of Heather Humphries' book In The City For Good). Our students will be blessed to learn more about the inspiring, meaningful work you are doing to make a difference in people's lives. I'm looking forward to exploring more connections between Luther Seminary and King of Glory and In the City for Good so that our students can see a successful, energetic Christian outreach program.

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to acquaint President Bliese and me with the work of ITCFG. Sending the books to us ahead of time helped us get a window on what you are accomplishing, and then meeting all of the people you introduced us to helped deepen the picture. You are doing visionary, important work!

Blessings,

Jenny

Dear Terry Kittleson:

I am pleased to announce that your GivingPlus® program enrollment application has been accepted, and your organization is eligible to receive the benefits of this one-of-a-kind gifting program.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is committed to serving Lutherans and supporting Lutheran organizations and institutions through the GivingPlus® program. Through the GivingPlus® program, gifts given by eligible members and others to Lutheran organizations and institutions like yours accomplish even more.

Last year, gifts from individuals, combined with additional funding from the GivingPlus® program, totaled more than $75 million. This outpouring helped nearly 3,000 Lutheran institutions carry out their ministry and missionbenefits that have a significant impact on our Lutheran community.

Locally, Thrivent Financial benefit members and other eligible individuals now can demonstrate their support for the mission of In the City for Good through this program. We are privileged to join with these individuals to support your organization.

Thrivent leaders toured South Dallas March 19th with King of Glory members and saw first hand the organizations that In The City for Good is supporting. After the tour Dee Terry, Manager of Lutheran Community Services for the State of Texas said, "we are impressed with the wonderful work you are doing daily and I look forward to supporting the programs." Thrivent will join with these individuals to support the organization by adding $1 for every $2 donated by a Thrivent member up to a maximum supplement of $300.
